Robin Pope Safaris offers the best Zambia safaris with private walking safaris and exclusive luxurious safari properties in Africa. With our lodge, Pumulani on Lake Malawi, we offer unbeatable “bush and beach” holidays.

This Bush & Beach Holiday starts at South Luangwa in Zambia's premier park.

The South Luangwa Park is 9050 sq. km with the river, its tributaries and the riverine strips being the focus of the wildlife viewing. There are the diverse habitats, from huge ox bow lagoons of varying stages of maturity, woodlands, ebony groves, grassland and thickets, that host truly impressive numbers of wildlife. The birdlife is also excellent with around 450 species to be seen.

The Luangwa River remains one of the last untouched major river systems in the world.

The abundance of leopards in the Luangwa is famous and although not guaranteed it is usual for everyone coming through on a three or more night safari to see at least one leopard. The Luangwa has two endemic species - the Thorneycroft giraffe which is found mostly in the central area of the park and the Cookson's wildebeest which is more scattered and only in the north. Usually it is great number of game that impresses people.

This itinerary ends at Pumulani on Nankumba Peninsula, recognized as one of the most beautiful shores of the Lake and borders Lake Malawi National Park. This Park was established in order to protect the cichlid fish unique to the area. In 1984 the park was designated a World Heritage Site.

The ten villas are scattered around the hillside and are individual in shape and style but all have a spacious bedroom, bathroom and extensive sitting area. The front sliding doors open onto the deck – elevated above the ground giving optimal views.

The stunning setting of the lodge and the unique comfort of the rooms means that many guests choose to make relaxation their main activity, but there is enough activities available to keep guests busy.
